Girls’ Enrichment Program

ACOH is committed to advancing the education, well-being, and overall development of girls in rural communities. We believe that girls play a vital role in building strong, thriving societies—and empowering them is essential for sustainable development.

However, in many rural areas, poverty and limited household income create significant barriers to girls’ education. Too often, girls lack access to the basic resources needed to attend and remain in school. Without equal opportunities for education, meaningful progress is impossible, because a society cannot thrive when half its population is left behind.

Many girls who begin school are unable to complete their education due to challenges such as:

• Lack of tuition and essential learning materials (uniforms, books, sanitary supplies)
• Early pregnancies
• Forced and early marriages

In addition, limited access to guidance and mentorship leaves many adolescent girls struggling with peer pressure, low self-esteem, and lack of confidence. As a result, harmful coping behaviors—such as substance use—and mental health challenges have become increasingly common.

Our Approach

To address these challenges, our program focuses on:

1. Education Support

Providing financial assistance and essential learning materials to girls from low-income families, ensuring they can enroll in and stay in school.

2. Life Skills & Enrichment Programs

Equipping adolescent girls with the knowledge and skills they need to:

• Navigate daily challenges
• Build healthy relationships
• Make informed life choices
• Develop confidence and self-worth
• Reduce vulnerability to harmful behaviors

3. Mentorship & Guidance

Connecting girls in primary and secondary schools with mentors who inspire, guide, and support them to:

• Stay in school
• Graduate successfully
• Pursue their career goals and aspirations
